Beschreibung
Die RumClub Private Selection Edition 65 ist ein außergewöhnlicher Single Cask Rum aus der Trinidad Distillers Limited Distillery. Der 2010 destillierte Rum reifte insgesamt 16 Jahre in einem ehemaligen Bourbonfass aus amerikanischer Weißeiche. Davon verbrachte er 14 Jahre unter den tropischen Bedingungen Trinidads, bevor das Fass nach Europa überführt wurde und der Rum weitere zwei Jahre im kontinentalen Klima reifte.
In der Nase entfalten sich intensive Aromen reifer tropischer Früchte, begleitet von Vanille, Karamell und feiner Bourbon-Eiche. Kandierte Zitrusfrüchte, geröstete Nüsse und dezente Gewürznoten ergänzen das vielschichtige Profil.
Am Gaumen zeigt sich der Rum kraftvoll und dicht. Vanille, Karamell und exotische Früchte treffen auf würzige Eiche, dunkle Schokolade, Leder und frische Minze. Trotz seiner natürlichen Fassstärke von 68 % Vol. wirkt der Alkohol hervorragend eingebunden und trägt die komplexen Aromen bis in den langen Nachklang.
Das Finale ist wärmend und intensiv, mit dunkler Schokolade, Eichenwürze und einer anhaltenden Süße. Nach etwas Ruhe im Glas öffnet sich der Rum weiter und offenbart zusätzliche Facetten. Die Abfüllung erfolgte ohne Zusätze und ist auf lediglich 395 Flaschen limitiert.
