Whisky Tasting

Our whisky tastings take place right here in our newly opened spirits paradise in Kaiserslautern (Rhineland Palatinate). All tastings take place in small groups with a maximum of 30 people. Parking is available in the immediate vicinity. Look forward to an evening in a rustic atmosphere. We will give you background information on the distilleries and the drams that we taste. The 2 cl drams are served with bread, pretzels and water. We look forward to seeing you!

We are delighted to welcome Andreas Tschaika (Area Manager Stauning) this evening.

After a welcome drink, Andreas will have a wealth of information about Stauning's history and traditions starting at 7 p.m. on October 24. He will be accompanied by a total of nine whiskeys.

The tasting will be held in GERMAN/ENGLISH.

We've put a lot of effort into making this tasting so that you can finally sample some of the best Laphroaig has to offer!

The absolute highlights are Laphroaig 25 Cask Strength, Laphroaig 33 Strong Characters and Laphroaig 34 Ian Hunter Book 5.

Mark Giesler will guide us through the tasting. He was named Brand Ambassador of the Year by the Whisky Ambassador in 2024. Mark knows absolutely everything about Laphroaig and can explain the intricacies of whisky distilling to us.

As always, water, bread, and snacks will be available at the tasting.

We are very happy that Drew Mayville will be visiting us on November 6, 2025 at 7 p.m.
Drew Mayville, Master Blender and Quality Director at Buffalo Trace Distillery, brings decades of experience from some of the world's largest spirits companies. He joined Sazerac at Buffalo Trace Distillery in 2004 as Master Blender and Quality Director.

He has collaborated on many of Buffalo Trace Distillery's first-class creations, including Weller, George T. Stagg, and many more.

Kyrö – a newly opened whisky distillery in Finland that's been causing quite a stir. Finnish rye is carefully hand-distilled amidst the fields and forests of Isokyrö to create a very special malt. Discover with us what makes this whisky so outstanding.

Something very special is the Sauna Series from Kyrö (part 1 is unfortunately sold out). We taste the whisky before and after the sauna treatment, followed by the final product, Sauna Stories 2.
