Danish Rye Whisky with Orange Liqueur Finish

For the Grand Danois Winter Drop, Stauning uses only locally sourced, floor-malted rye. Distillation takes place in direct-fired copper pot stills. Maturation in fresh American oak, also known as virgin oak, is followed by a finish in French orange liqueur casks. This brings together spicy rye notes and fruity citrus accents.

Aromas and Flavor

  • Color: Warm honey hue.
  • Nose: Ripe cherries, orange zest, vanilla, and a hint of cinnamon.
  • Palate: Full texture with rye spice and fruity liqueur notes.
  • Finish: Long-lasting and aromatic.

Features and Enjoyment

The limited edition is bottled at 40.6% ABV without coloring and without chill-filtration. Its profile is non-peated. The 0.7-liter bottle comes in a gift box; the label incorporates organic motifs. Serving recommendation is to enjoy it neat at room temperature.
