Quiet Rebels: Matthew's Cask Selection
The sixth edition of the Quiet Rebels series is dedicated to whisky blender Matthew. His passion for cinema and contrasting flavors defines this single malt from Nc'nean in the Scottish Highlands. This limited bottling from 2026 is offered at 48.5% ABV.
The cask composition consists of 47% Manzanilla, 51% Bourbon, and 2% Oloroso sherry casks. The Manzanilla hogsheads used were previously seasoned in Jerez for over 24 months. They contribute fine salty accents to the profile.
Aromas and Taste
- Nose: Pineapple cake, warm pastry notes, and creamy caramel meet subtle nut aromas.
- Palate: Sweet and salty popcorn notes combine with roasted hazelnuts. The mouthfeel is robust and oily.
- Finish: Delicate sherry tannins and a hint of citrus fruit round off the profile.
Production and Enjoyment
The base is made exclusively from organic Scottish barley. The non-peated single malt is bottled without coloring and without chill filtration. To explore its aromas, we recommend enjoying it neat at room temperature.
