Der Michter's US 1 Toasted Barrel Finish Sour Mash ist ein Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey von Michter's aus Kentucky in USA.

Michter's US 1 Toasted Barrel Finish Sour Mash ist eine besondere Limited-Release-Abfüllung aus Kentucky. Grundlage ist der bekannte Michter's US 1 Sour Mash Whiskey, der nach seiner regulären Reifung ein zusätzliches Finish in einem eigens dafür gefertigten, getoasteten Fass erhält.

Für dieses zweite Fass verwendet Michter's Holz, das 18 Monate luftgetrocknet wurde. Anschließend wird das Fass getoastet, jedoch nicht ausgebrannt. Dadurch erhält der Whiskey zusätzliche Tiefe, ohne seinen weichen Sour-Mash-Charakter zu verlieren.

Im Aroma zeigt sich der Michter's Toasted Barrel Finish Sour Mash mit süßen und würzigen Noten von Toffee, Vanille, Honig und Milchschokolade. Dazu kommen Orangenschale, feine Toast- und Lagerfeueranklänge sowie Nuancen von Kirsche und Gewürzen. Mit 43% Vol. bleibt er zugänglich, bringt aber durch das getoastete Fass eine deutlich aromatischere und komplexere Seite mit.
