Es ist das präzise Zusammenspiel aus der Eleganz einer Speyside-Destillerie und der intensiven Veredelung in spanischer Eiche, das diesen Single Malt zu einer Entdeckung für anspruchsvolle Gaumen macht. Dunkle Frucht und maritime Würze Im Glas präsentiert sich der Whisky in einem satten Bernsteinton und verströmt ein dichtes Bouquet von Rosinen, Feigenkompott und dunklem Sirup. Die Brennerei Mannochmore steht dabei im Zentrum dieser Abfüllung.
Fassreifung und Herkunft
Die Kunst der Nachreifung im PX-Hogshead Die im Februar 2013 destillierte Spirituose reifte über zwölf Jahre heran, wobei sie ihre abschließende Prägung durch ein 14-monatiges Finish in einem First Fill PX Hogshead erhielt. Mit einer limitierten Auflage von lediglich 284 Flaschen und einer Abfüllung in Fassstärke von 52,7 % Vol. bleibt der unverfälschte Charakter dieses Einzelfasses in seiner reinsten Form erhalten.
Aromatik
Am Gaumen zeigt sich eine vollmundige, ölige Textur, die von einer markanten Dattelsüße und Schokoladenfondant getragen wird, während im Hintergrund getoastete Eiche und eine feine Pfefferwürze für Komplexität sorgen.
