Six years in a Sherry Butt
Sherry Butt #19357 housed this Japanese single malt from Kanosuke for six years. Distillation in September 2019 was followed by bottling in March 2026 for the 50th anniversary of Kirsch Import. In total, this single cask bottling comprises 569 bottles. The whisky has a cask strength of 62.0% ABV and was bottled without chill filtration and without the addition of coloring.
Aromas and taste
- Nose: Honey and vanilla accompany ripe dark fruits and sweet dried fruits.
- Palate: A full-bodied, malty impression combines with caramel sweetness, nutty tones, and spicy oak.
- Finish: Cocoa and a subtle salty note define the long finish.
Kanosuke and Kagoshima
The Kanosuke distillery was founded in 2017 in Kagoshima. Its roots in shochu production go back as far as 1883. In this non-peated single malt, fruity and sweet aromas meet malt, oak spice, and a slightly salty accent.
