Am Gaumen zeigt er sich ölig und kräftig mit rauchigem Speck, gesalzenem Gerstenwasser und weiterem Torf, der eine medizinische Note mitbringt. Wichtige Eckdaten: 10 Jahre, destilliert August 2015, abgefüllt 2026, 50,0% Vol. Die Abfüllung stammt von The Vintage Malt Whisky Co Ltd.
Einordnung
Zitrusrauch, Seetang und zitronige Torfasche prägen die Nase, während der ölige Gaumen Torf, rauchigen Speck und eine medizinische Note verbindet.
Beschreibung
Dieser Caol Ila wurde im August 2015 destilliert und reifte zehn Jahre in einem Bourbonfass. 2026 kam der Islay Single Malt als Einzelfassabfüllung der Reihe The Cooper’s Choice – The Golden Cut mit 50,0 % Vol. in insgesamt 348 Flaschen heraus. Er ist ungefärbt und nicht kühlfiltriert.
In der Nase verbinden sich Zitrusrauch, Seetang und zitronige Torfasche. Am Gaumen zeigt er sich ölig und kräftig mit rauchigem Speck, gesalzenem Gerstenwasser und weiterem Torf, der eine medizinische Note mitbringt. Der Nachklang ist salzig und aschig; lang anhaltende Öle und süßer Rauch bleiben präsent.
