Smoky Islay Single Malt from a Sherry Butt
This twelve-year-old Bunnahabhain combines the smoky Staoisha style with maturation in Sherry Butt #900018. The distillate dates from 2013 and was bottled in 2026 as a single cask bottling at 55.0% ABV. Maritime notes, dark fruits, and nutty accents define its character.
Aromas and Taste
- Nose: Smoke accompanies salty hints and the scent of seaweed. These are joined by dark dried fruits and roasted hazelnuts.
- Palate: Caramel and malt form the sweet side of the whisky. Salt and smoky spice provide a distinct counterpoint to this.
- Finish: Nutty tones and maritime impressions remain in a dry finish.
No coloring and non-chill filtered
The single malt is bottled without coloring and without chill filtration. For tasting, we recommend starting with a small sip neat. Afterwards, you can explore how the interplay of smoke, fruit, and nut changes with a few drops of water.
