Ardnamurchan The Midgie Batch #3 2026
With "The Midgie", Ardnamurchan dedicates a characterful special bottling to the notorious little pests of the Scottish Highlands. For the 2026 release, 34% bourbon barrels, 49% ruby port barriques and 17% tawny port barriques were married. The recipe of 72% unpeated and 28% peated spirit combines intense fruit with gentle smoke.
The nose reveals red raspberries, golden syrup, fresh cedarwood, violets, soft almond biscuits and pickled lemon. On the palate, subtle cigar smoke, blackberries, lemon thyme, pink pepper, fig syrup, plum cake and nutmeg meet, before bitter orange and sea salt characterise the persistent finish.
Bottled at 48% ABV, without colouring and non-chill-filtered, The Midgie 2026 is limited to 9,742 bottles. The clear bottle is also made from 54% recycled glass and allows blockchain-based traceability via a QR code.
