Secret Canadian Distillery 24 Years 2001/2026 Refill Sherry Butt - Master of Malt
This 24-year-old Canadian Corn Whisky comes from an undisclosed Canadian distillery. It was distilled on September 1, 2001, before maturing until March 2026 and being bottled from a refill sherry butt. It was selected by Sam Simmons, Head of Whisky at Master of Malt and a Canadian himself, for the exclusive Master of Malt collection.
The "Elbows Up Edition" was released on Canada Day 2026. The robust alcohol content of 67.0% ABV also references a piece of Canadian history: it refers to the founding year of the Canadian Confederation in 1867. A total of only 911 bottles were produced.
In the aroma, the whisky initially appears bright, clear, and rather reserved. Applesauce, fresh wood, and raisin pastries define the nose. On the palate, the high strength is distinctly noticeable before spices, crème brûlée, rum-soaked raisins, and chocolate cookies unfold. The creamy finish combines vanilla pudding and buttered corn with kitchen spices and caramelized brown sugar.
