Islay Single Malt from an Oloroso Sherry Cask
PHORLAG, another part of the Alien Series from Scotch Universe. This 11-year-old Laphroaig was distilled in 2015 and bottled in 2026 by Scotch Universe. It matured completely in a 1st Fill Oloroso Sherry Hogshead. As a single cask bottling at cask strength, it has an alcohol content of 55.3% ABV.
Strong peat smoke, maritime notes, and seaweed characterize the aroma profile. Raisins and dark plums complement the smoky-salty direction with ripe fruit. On the palate, an oily texture and mineral accents combine with spicy toffee and licorice. Dry ash and dark chocolate accompany the long finish.
Unadulterated bottling
The single malt is bottled without coloring and without chill-filtration. A few drops of water can unlock further spice and sherry notes at this cask strength.
