Edradour 2012/2025 13 years

This single malt from the Scottish Highlands comes from Scotland's smallest traditional distillery. Edradour has been producing whisky in the traditional artisanal way for over 200 years and is known for innovative cask experiments using French wine barrels.

This whisky matured entirely in first-fill Sauternes hogsheads for thirteen years. The six casks, #168, 169, 171, 172, 173, and 174, were previously filled with the French dessert wine from the Sauternes region. This combination gave the Highland malt a characteristic sweetness and fresh citrus notes that perfectly complement the original whisky character.

At 48.2% ABV, this whisky was bottled unfiltered and without coloring. This natural approach preserves all the flavor compounds from the long maturation in Sauternes casks. The golden color with honey-colored highlights comes exclusively from the interaction with the French oak.
