Experience the unique 13-year-old Benrinnes whisky in the exclusive 100 Proof Edition from Signatory Vintage . Carefully distilled in small intermediate stills at the Speyside distillery, this spirit was matured in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts, imparting rich color and flavor.
The term proof is an old measure of the alcohol content of a beverage, especially whisky, and indicates the minimum alcohol content at which gunpowder ignites when soaked in the liquid. This method was used in the heyday of seafaring to ensure that barrels stored in ships' holds could withstand the harsh weather conditions at sea. Today, the term 100 proof is used for whiskies with high alcohol content, like this one from Benrinnes.
