Baby Jane Widow Jane Bourbon
Baby Jane ist ein Small-Batch-Blend aus Bourbons, die in Brooklyn und Kentucky destilliert wurden. Im Mittelpunkt steht eine eigens entwickelte alte Maissorte, die ebenfalls den Namen „Baby Jane“ trägt. Sie entstand aus Bloody Butcher Red und Wapsie Valley Yellow Corn. Die verwendeten Bourbons reifen vier bis sechs Jahre in neuen, ausgebrannten Fässern aus amerikanischer Eiche. Abgefüllt wird ohne Kühlfiltration mit 45,5 % Vol.; zum Einstellen der Trinkstärke dient mineralreiches Wasser aus den Rosendale Mines im Bundesstaat New York.
In der Nase zeigen sich Honigwabe, Cream Soda, eine leicht salzige Note und grüne Trauben. Am Gaumen folgen Milchkaffee, Erdbeer-Sahne-Toffee, Salzkaramell, frische Feige, Piment und ein pflanzlich-herber Akzent von Himbeerblättern. Der lange Nachklang verbindet Pfirsichkompott, Sternanis, getrocknetes Heu, Horchata, weiches Laugengebäck und Milchschokolade.
Ein vielschichtiger Bourbon, bei dem die besondere Maissorte, cremige Süße und würzige Kontraste im Vordergrund stehen.
