Teaninich 8 Years Diageo Special Releases 2025
This 8-year-old rye whiskey from the Teaninich Distillery could be Diageo's most interesting special release in years. Since there's no classification for single malt rye, it's a grain whiskey distilled from rye in the pot stills of a malt distillery. Confused? No worries. Bottled at 60.3% ABV after maturing in ex-bourbon casks.
Manufacturer's description:
"From a bold rye experiment in 2016, using the Teaninich Distillery's rare mash filter, we present an outstanding Scotch. Malted rye and barley are mashed together and then aged in ex-bourbon casks. This bold departure produces flavors rich in subversive, spicy toffee sweetness, punctuated by deep notes of cinnamon and clove. An exceptionally atypical taste that proves: fortune favors the brave."
