St. Kilian Solera IV Unpeated
The second, unpeated bottling in the "Whisky Solera by St. Kilian " series underwent all three stages of the unique, cascading Solera maturation system – inspired by the traditional sherry casks of Andalusia and perfected in Rüdenau specifically for single malt whisky. In the final maturation stage, the whisky matures exclusively in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, while the cask tier below, the 1st Criadera, consists of barrique casks previously filled with medium sherry made from 100% Pedro Ximénez grapes. The top cask tier, the 2nd Criadera, comprises fine Manzanilla sherry casks filled with smooth whisky that had previously matured in fresh American white oak casks.
This exceptional whisky is made from 100% pure malted barley and double-distilled in original copper pot stills. After six years of maturation in the Solera system, it is bottled at a robust 57.5% ABV, without chill filtration and in its natural color. This limited release comprises only 728 half-liter bottles – a masterpiece for connoisseurs of complex whiskies.
