19-year-old Mortlach matured in a Bolgheri cask
This Single Malt from the Scottish Speyside combines 19 years of maturation with the influence of a 1st Fill Bolgheri Cask. Distilled in 2007, the spirit was bottled in 2026 from cask #102. This single cask bottling consists of 287 bottles and has a cask strength of 56.6% vol.
The former red wine cask from Tuscany adds a fruit-forward side to the profile of the Mortlach. Malty sweetness and spicy oak complement the dark fruit aromas. The whisky is not smoky and has been bottled without artificial coloring or chill-filtration.
Aromas and Flavor
- Nose: Malty sweetness accompanied by ripe cherries and dark berries.
- Palate: Stewed fruits meet oak spice and a powerful texture.
- Finish: Dry and long, with lingering notes of dark fruit.
