Louis Roederer Collection Champagne
Founded in 1776, the Champagne house Louis Roederer has been family-owned since 1819 and is one of the few major Champagne houses to have maintained its independence. With an exceptionally large portfolio of vineyards in Champagne, Louis Roederer has earned a distinguished reputation. The house's high-quality Champagnes are appreciated in over 80 countries for their delicate character, complexity, and perfect balance.
The Champagne presents itself in a radiant color with brilliant reflections and an exceptionally fine, consistent perlage. The bouquet entices with notes of yellow fruits such as mirabelle plums and nectarines, as well as candied citrus fruits, especially lemons. The aromatic profile is complemented by oak-influenced nuances such as toasty and vanilla notes, resulting from the aging of 24% of the wines in French oak barrels. Delicate, saline reduction aromas with hints of iodine and toasty notes lend the Chardonnay a refined elegance.
On the palate, the wine is elegant, light, and fruity with notes of peach and floral accents such as pollen. The gentle, creamy perlage leaves delicious, chalky, and salty nuances on the tongue and lips. The mid-palate unfolds an oily, powdery, yet fresh and dynamic texture that feels vibrant. The long, graceful finish is characterized by smoky and toasty reduction notes, likely attributable to the Réserve Perpetuelle.
This precise, delicate and at the same time vibrant Champagne impresses with its exceptionally high proportion of Chardonnay, which gives it finesse, elegance, a chalky salinity and a refreshing lightness – qualities reminiscent of noble Blancs de Blancs.
