This Spanish-style brown rum originates from Guatemala and is produced by the Bortran family, known for their expertise in producing sugarcane-based spirits since 1939. As one of the leading sources of high-quality Guatemalan rum, they present La Maison du Rhum Guatemala, made from sugarcane honey and distilled in column stills. The rum was aged using the solera method in ex-bourbon and re-toasted bourbon barrels before being bottled in 2021.
La Maison du Rhum Guatemala is part of the limited-edition La Maison du Rhum series, currently in its fourth batch. This series brings together ten exceptional rums from some of the world's most renowned distilleries. The individual batches are distinguished by their variety of cask finishes, maturation levels, and distillation techniques, which give each rum its unique character.
