Edradour 8 Years 2018/2026 - Signatory Vintage - 1st Fill Châteauneuf-du-Pape Hogsheads
Eight years of maturation in red wine casks
This Edradour Single Malt from the Scottish Highlands was distilled in 2018 at the Edradour No. 2 distillery extension and bottled in 2026 after eight years. It was matured entirely in 1st Fill Châteauneuf-du-Pape Hogsheads. The red wine casks from the Rhône Valley give the whisky a distinctly wine-forward character.
This bottling commemorates the 40th industry anniversary of Andrew Symington, who acquired his first cask in 1986. The non-peated whisky is bottled at a cask strength of 57.1% ABV, with no added coloring and no chill filtration.
Fruit, sweetness, and oak spice
- Color: Deep amber.
- Nose: Cherries and dark berries meet orange. Floral honey and vanilla complement the fruit aromas.
- Palate: Toffee and malty caramel provide sweetness, while dark chocolate and a pronounced pepper note add tart and spicy accents.
- Finish: Long-lasting, with dry oak spice and vinous notes.
A few drops of water can help the fruit aromas to stand out more clearly. The 0.7-liter bottle features a soft pink label and comes in a black tube.
The bottling is produced by the independent bottler Signatory Vintage.
