Islay Single Malt from a PX Sherry Hogshead
This ten-year-old Caol Ila was distilled in 2016 and released by Claxton's as a single cask bottling in 2026. The Pedro Ximénez Sherry Hogshead combines the heavily peated Islay style with dark fruit and chocolate notes.
Aromas and Taste
Raisins and plums dominate the aroma, accompanied by maritime notes and peat smoke. On the palate, dark chocolate and cocoa meet spicy oak and earthy smoke notes. The long finish retains dry oak spice and a pronounced sherry sweetness.
