Torabhaig The Distillers Series - Ionas First Edition
Für Iona’s First Edition ließ sich Iona Macphie von ihren Wanderungen auf Skye inspirieren. Dunkle Schokolade, die sie dabei neben einem Dram begleitete, prägt auch die Idee hinter diesem Whisky von Torabhaig. Mit ihrer ersten Edition setzt sie einen persönlichen Akzent im Sortiment der Brennerei.
Zur Rezeptur gehören neben ungetorftem Basismalz zehn Prozent Chocolate Malt. Dieses kräftig geröstete Spezialmalz trägt zum schokoladigen Charakter des Single Malts bei.
Schokolade, Frucht und würzige Akzente
Im Duft stehen Kakao und dunkle Schokolade neben Vanille und malzigem Getreide. Zitrusnoten und feine tropische Fruchtanklänge verleihen dem Eindruck Frische.
Am Gaumen setzen Nelke und Pfefferminze erste Akzente. Dazu kommen Karamell und Toffee sowie die Fruchtigkeit roter Johannisbeeren und Rosinen. Geröstete Eiche und Ingwer führen in einen langen Nachklang, in dem sich Vanille mit Pfeffer und Zimt verbindet.
