Old Perth PX Limited Edition #2
With the Pedro Ximénez Limited Edition #2, Old Perth consistently continues its distinct sherry-heavy style. For this Blended Malt Scotch Whisky, five selected Speyside Single Malts were married together, which matured entirely in first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry butts and hogsheads. Thus, it is not merely a finish, but a complete PX sherry cask maturation. The whisky was bottled at 54.3% Vol. at cask strength, without coloring and without chill filtration.
On the nose, juicy dates and overripe grapes appear, accompanied by ginger, cinnamon, and the opulent sweetness of the PX casks. On the palate, a full-bodied interplay of sticky toffee pudding, dark molasses, and fine cinnamon spice develops. The long, warming finish remains nutty, sweet, and spicy, underlining the powerful character of this second PX edition.
