Beschreibung
Santa Teresa 1796 ist ein venezolanischer Single-Estate-Rum der Hacienda Santa Teresa im Aragua-Tal. Die Zahl 1796 verweist auf das Gründungsjahr der Hacienda und ist keine Altersangabe. Für den Blend werden leichte, schwere und im Pot Still destillierte Rums zusammengeführt. Die verwendeten Komponenten reifen zunächst getrennt, anschließend im vierstufigen Solera-System und abschließend in großen Eichenbehältern. Eine feste Altersangabe trägt die Abfüllung nicht.
Der Rum zeigt eine fruchtige Nase mit deutlichen Holznoten. Am Gaumen verbinden sich Nüsse, Leder, Vanille, Zimt, dunkle Schokolade und Pflaumen mit Anklängen von Honig und Pfeffer. Seine Stilistik ist trocken, weich und ausgewogen; der Nachklang bleibt lange präsent. Abgefüllt wird Santa Teresa 1796 mit 40 % vol.
