North British with Mizunara Octave Finish
This 15-year-old Single Grain from the Scottish Lowlands combines maturation in two stages with a finish in Japanese Mizunara oak. Distilled in January 2011 at North British, it received its final maturation in a small Mizunara Octave cask after the initial storage period. The small cask size promotes the exchange between the whisky and the wood.
This single cask bottling from The Octave series comes from cask #5952066. A total of 85 bottles were filled in September 2026 for the 60th anniversary of Kirsch Import. The alcohol content is 53.4% ABV; the whisky is neither chill-filtered nor artificially colored.
Vanilla, nut, and spicy wood
- Nose: Sweet cereal notes meet caramel, honey, and vanilla.
- Palate: A soft, rounded mouthfeel is accompanied by toffee and roasted hazelnuts. Citrus accents complement sandalwood and a subtle hint of pepper.
- Finish: Long-lasting and dry, with a harmonious finale.
This bottling is produced by the independent bottler Duncan Taylor.
