Twelve years of maturation with a Rivesaltes finish
This Mortlach from the Scottish Speyside combines maturation in refill hogsheads with a finish of more than two years in 1st Fill Rivesaltes Wine Hogsheads. Five of these casks were married for this bottling. The southern French fortified wine shapes the fruit-forward profile of the whisky.
Distilled on 18 November 2013 and bottled in June 2026, this twelve-year-old whisky is part of the Un-Chillfiltered Collection. It is bottled at 46.0% ABV without chill-filtration and without coloring.
Fruit, chocolate, and dry spice
- Color: Rich ocher.
- Nose: Honey and dried apricots meet ripe plums. Cinnamon and a hint of ginger complement the fruit aromas.
- Palate: The creamy texture carries notes of dark chocolate and cherry jam, joined by a subtle salty nuance.
- Finish: Long-lasting and dry, with white pepper and light oak bitterness.
Serving suggestion
The non-peated Mortlach can be enjoyed neat or with a splash of still water. The 0.7-liter bottle comes in a tube.
