Mac-Talla Oloroso
Mac-Talla means "echo" in Gaelic. This brand's Islay single malts are produced by the renowned Morrison whisky family.
This limited edition, created from just 10 sherry butts, aims to highlight the special harmony between sherry and peat while presenting a new style of Islay malt.
After several years of maturation in sherry casks, the single malt develops distinctive aromas that set it apart from most other sherry cask bottlings from Islay. The casks used – 75% first fill and 25% refill – come from the Jose y Miguel Martin winery in Jerez, Andalusia. After vatting, the whisky was allowed to rest for another three months to allow the aromas to blend harmoniously. With a phenol content of 30-40 ppm, the smoky notes blend perfectly with the fruity, sweet, and spicy nuances of the sherry.
