Powerful peat smoke and fruity notes characterize this Ledaig from the Scottish island of Mull. The single malt was distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2025 after 19 years of maturation. It was aged entirely in refill butt number #1. This single cask yielded 636 bottles.
The bottling has a cask strength of 55.6% ABV and is bottled without artificial coloring or chill filtration. The smoky profile is complemented by maritime accents, sweet aromas, and dry wood notes.
Aromas and taste
- Nose: Earthy peat smoke meets a distinct salty note.
- Palate: An oily mouthfeel accompanies toffee, ripe apricot, and tart orange peel. Dried fruits and fine spice notes complement the intense smoke.
- Finish: Long and dry, with oak wood and lingering peat smoke.
Enjoyment at cask strength
