Hinch 5 Year Old Double Wood Madeira Cask Finish
The Hinch 5 Year Old Madeira Wine Cask Finish combines classic maturation in ex-Bourbon barrels with a six-month finish in former Madeira wine casks. This gives the Irish whiskey additional depth, fruity sweetness and spicy complexity.
On the nose, Hinch describes warm wood spices, candied orange peel, subtle chocolate orange and sandalwood. The palate reveals orange marmalade, stewed peaches, buttered toast, chopped hazelnuts and chocolate praline. The finish brings toasted hazelnut, a hint of crushed pepper and red grapes.
