Highland Park 11 Jahre 1997/2009 Old Malt Cask

Dieser Highland Park gehört zur traditionsreichen Reihe The Old Malt Cask, die 1998 als Serie ausgewählter Einzelfassabfüllungen eingeführt wurde. Zum Zeitpunkt dieser Abfüllung lag die Reihe noch bei Douglas Laing. Charakteristisch für Old Malt Cask ist die Abfüllung mit 50 % vol. – eine Stärke, die den individuellen Fasscharakter bewahren und gleichzeitig eine gute Trinkbarkeit ermöglichen soll.

Der Single Malt wurde im September 1997 auf den Orkney-Inseln destilliert und nach elf Jahren Reifung im Februar 2009 abgefüllt. Er lagerte in dem Refill Hogshead mit der Referenz DL 4927, aus dem lediglich 324 Flaschen hervorgingen. Der Whisky wurde weder kühlfiltriert noch mit Farbstoff versetzt. Damit vereint diese seltene Abfüllung Highland Park, ein einzelnes Fass und das klassische Konzept der frühen Old-Malt-Cask-Reihe.
