Speyside Single Malt with Mizunara finish
Japanese Mizunara oak defines the finishing maturation of this 17-year-old Glentauchers. This Speyside Single Malt was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2026 as part of The Octave series. Small octave casks offer the whisky a greater contact area with the wood in relation to its volume.
This single cask bottling from cask #8552086 comprises 77 bottles and was created for the 50th anniversary of Kirsch Import. At 53.5% ABV, the whisky is bottled without chill-filtration and without added coloring.
Fruit, sweetness, and spicy wood notes
- Nose: Bright, ripe fruits meet honey, malt, and vanilla. Sandalwood and coconut complement the fruity-sweet profile.
- Palate: A soft, rounded mouthfeel accompanies toffee and dried fruits. Ginger and cedarwood provide spicy accents.
- Finish: Long-lasting with woody spice and a subtle note of incense.
The independent bottler Duncan Taylor is responsible for this release.
