Glenfarclas 1997/2012 Sherry Cask
Glenfarclas is one of the few Scottish distilleries that remains family-run to this day. Since 1865, the Speyside distillery has been in the hands of the Grant family. Traditional, direct-fired stills and many years of working with selected sherry casks characterize its production. This Cask Strength Premium Edition embodies this classic Glenfarclas style as a limited vintage bottling.
The whisky was distilled in 1997 and bottled on February 20, 2012. For this, Glenfarclas combined eleven sherry casks with numbers 159–162, 2134–2137 and 6378–6380. The bottling was done at a robust 53.6% vol. at cask strength and was limited to 6,000 bottles. The combination of vintage, sherry cask maturation, and high bottling strength clearly distinguishes this Premium Edition from the distillery's regular standard bottlings.
