This Caol Ila was distilled in August 2015 and matured for ten years in a bourbon cask. Description
This Caol Ila was distilled in August 2015 and matured for ten years in a bourbon cask. In 2026, the Islay single malt was released as a single cask bottling from The Cooper’s Choice – The Golden Cut range at 50.0% ABV in a total of 348 bottles. It is uncolored and non-chill filtered.
In the nose, citrus smoke, seaweed and lemon-peat ash come together. On the palate, it is oily and robust, with smoky bacon, salted barley water and further peat that brings a medicinal note. The finish is salty and ashy; long-lasting oils and sweet smoke remain present.
