The Ardmore distillery was founded in 1898 by Adam Teacher near the Scottish town of Kennethmont. Interestingly, a distillery also called Ardmore existed on the island of Islay at the beginning of the 19th century, but apart from the name, it has no connection to the Ardmore distillery. Today, the distillery is part of the Suntory group.
This single malt is an exceptional whisky, matured for 27 years. It belongs to the "Wave Farewell to 2025 Series" and was distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2025 by The Whisky Agency. The whisky matured in a hogshead cask, and only 139 individually numbered bottles were produced. Bottled at 50.7% ABV without added coloring or chill filtration, this malt is a true classic.
