The Highland distillery Aberfeldy continues its Wine Cask series with this special edition. Known for its sweet and mellow character, this 18-year-old Aberfeldy single malt boasts a fascinating maturation history: it was initially aged in ex-first-fill bourbon casks before receiving a 12-month finish in Sangiovese red wine casks.
Sangiovese, one of Italy's most important red grape varieties, is known for its elegant and powerful red wines. Matured in casks from eastern Tuscany, this smooth Aberfeldy whisky is enriched with aromas of juicy red plums and ripe cherries. Bottled in a limited edition, it boasts a slightly higher alcohol content of 46% ABV, is non-chill filtered, and contains no added coloring.
