There are single malts that reveal themselves completely with the first sip, and those that unfold layer by layer, telling the story of their unusual maturation. This Millstone from the traditional Dutch Zuidam distillery is such an explorer, combining the fruit intensity of Southern France with Northern European distilling artistry.
Cask Maturation and Origin
Distilled in March 2019 from malted barley, this single malt spent its seven-year maturation period in two selected First Fill Banyuls Wine Hogsheads. An exclusive moment at cask strength. As part of the limited Windmill Collection No. 5, this spirit, with an edition of only 571 bottles, is a true rarity for connoisseurs.
Aroma
The nose is enveloped by aromas of ripe cherries, plums, and fine orange marmalade, supported by a gentle honey sweetness. On the palate, a creamy texture emerges, where dark chocolate and caramel meet a lively spice of cinnamon and cardamom, before a long-lasting finish rounds off the taste.
