Yamazaki Spanish Oak
The Yamazaki Spanish Oak is a single malt whisky from Yamazaki in Japan.
Description
Since the founding of Yamazaki in 1923, Suntory has combined Japanese nature and craftsmanship with the principle of Tsukuriwake – the deliberate diversity of different production and maturation methods. Spanish oak has played a defining role for many decades, lending the Yamazaki single malt exceptional depth and complexity.
For the Refill Spanish Oak Limited Edition 2026, refill casks made of Spanish oak were selected, producing a lighter, approachable and harmonious character. A proportion of peated whiskies from Spanish oak casks adds further depth and a vibrant, fruity facet to the profile. Bottled at 48% ABV, it was drawn from casks from 2014 and 2015.
The nose combines roasted apricot compote, cloves and nutmeg. On the palate follow fresh cherries, dried figs and grilled peach, accompanied by delicate cocoa nibs. The finish is rich and fruit-forward, with notes of coffee and wood smoke.
