With “The Bodach,” The Caskhound continues its Legends at the Bar series. For the third edition, a peated Ledaig from the Tobermory Distillery was selected. The single malt was distilled on March 6, 2008, and matured for 18 years in an ex-Bourbon Hogshead. On April 20, 2026, a total of 283 bottles from cask number 20 were bottled at a natural cask strength of 50.1% Vol. The whisky is uncolored and non-chill-filtered.

Salty sea air, warm beeswax, and mineral smoke lead the way. Lemon peel, green apple, and honeydew melon bring freshness, complemented by an iodine-medicinal accent, as well as vanilla, toasted malt, and herbal honey. On the palate, oily peat and chimney smoke meet citrus peel, white pepper, honey, and vanilla. Cream caramel provides a brief sweet contrast before wet rock, ash, and brine bring the profile back to a dry, maritime character. The long, dry finish combines smoke, herbs, and ash with candied ginger, dark chocolate, oak spice, and a final trace of honey sweetness.
