This Teaninich from the Claxtons Exploration Series combines Scottish tradition with Portuguese elegance. This exceptional whisky matured for ten years before receiving its final finishing in a Madeira quarter cask. This special maturation process gives it its characteristic ochre color and an impressive depth of aroma.
The Teaninich Distillery, known for its fruity single malts from the Scottish Highlands, distilled this whisky on October 28, 2013. Finished in a Madeira quarter cask, it develops a fascinating interplay of aromas: fresh citrus notes and grassy herbs dominate the nose, while sweet orange marmalade and a subtle spiciness stand out on the palate. The medium-length finish is harmoniously rounded off by dry spices and gentle vanilla notes.
Bottled at 50% ABV, this single malt is presented at a robust cask strength, unfiltered and without artificial coloring. This limited edition bottling represents unadulterated quality and is a treat for lovers of characterful whiskies.
