This 22-year-old Highland Single Malt comes from an undisclosed Scottish distillery. The heavily peated whisky was distilled in March 2004. Its maturation began in refill casks before it received a finish in Pedro Ximénez sherry hogsheads. In March 2026, Master of Malt bottled it at a robust 54.6% ABV for their own independent bottling series. The limited edition comprises only 321 bottles.
The aroma features cranberries and dense ash smoke meeting smoked salami, extinguished candle wax, and burnt chocolate cake. The heavy peat character is balanced by a lavish PX sherry sweetness. On the palate, dense smoke and brown sugar combine with smoky honey, grilled stone fruits, and juicy raisins. Salted peanuts and creamy milk chocolate complement the powerful profile. The long finish leaves earthy, herbal peat smoke, candied smoked nuts, maple syrup, and cocoa, accompanied by a hint of brine and sweet ginger cake.
