Cask Maturation and Origin

Eleven years of maturation in a First Fill Ruby Port Wine Hogshead. Distilled in March 2015, this whisky spent its entire eleven-year maturation period in a first-fill Ruby Port Wine Hogshead. Bottled at a powerful cask strength of 58.5% Vol., chill filtration and the addition of coloring were deliberately avoided to preserve the original texture and full flavor profile. An interplay of ashy smoke and dark berries. On the nose, a striking, slightly smoky peat smoke immediately greets you, elegantly framed by the sweetness of ripe blackberries and dark grapes.

Aroma

On the palate, the Phenorax unfolds its full power: an ashy, almost phenolic peat smoke meets the rustic texture of oatmeal, before the deep fruit notes of the port wine take over.
