Dunville's Three Crowns Peated Sample
A peated Irish whiskey that received a very positive review in the 2018 edition of Jim Murray's Whisky Bible, scoring 94.5 points. It's comprised of a single grain whiskey, a 10-year-old single malt, and a 15-year-old single malt with an Oloroso sherry finish, all blended in a peated cask. It's not often you see peated Irish whiskeys, so make the most of this one!
Tasting Notes
Nose: The lightest phenol imaginable drifts across the nose like a glider over the Co. Down coast. Quiet and barely noticeable unless you're looking for it, but quite lovely.
Palate: Stunning texture. A blend of light Ulmo honey and mocha provides the friendliest and most beautiful delivery and execution. Light smoke drifts around without a portfolio.
Finish: Long and slightly fruity with overripe gooseberries. Mocha and smoke make their silent pleas for attention.
