Lochlea 6 Years 2020/2026 1st Fill Barrel #88 Thompson Bros
This Lochlea was distilled in 2020 and bottled in 2026 at the age of six by Thompson Bros. The Lowland Single Malt matured entirely in a First Fill Barrel with cask number 88. Only 248 bottles with 57.1% Vol. were produced from this single cask, natural in color and non-chill filtered.
The aroma begins invitingly with toasted brioche, pear compote, and ripe peaches. Fruit candies, vanilla cream, and a hint of green ginger provide additional sweetness and spice. On the palate, toasted oak, caramelized banana, and grape and melon rinds emerge. A surprisingly light salty note accompanies the long, slightly drier finish.
