Lindores Abbey 2021/2026 1st Fill Bourbon Ex Oloroso Cask Finish Thompson Bros
This young Lowland Single Malt was distilled at Lindores Abbey on March 4, 2021. It initially matured in a First Fill Ex-Bourbon Barrel before Thompson Bros. transferred it in October 2024 for finishing in an STR Oloroso Hogshead. After a total of five years, only 299 bottles at 55.9% Vol. were released in 2026. Bottled without added color and without chill-filtration.
On the nose, red grapes and strawberry candy combine with coffee, eucalyptus, and bitter walnut skin. On the palate, wild strawberries, figs, and caramel follow, accompanied by dark grapes, hazelnut coffee, and a delicate coffee sweetness. The finish remains fresh, slightly mentholated, and returns to the red fruit notes.
