Drei Jahrzehnte Handwerkskunst unter dem Siegel von Symington Im Herzen der Speyside destilliert, begann die Reise dieses Single Malts bereits am 5. September 1995 in der Glenburgie Destillerie. Diese spezielle Fassart ist bekannt für ihre Fähigkeit, dem Destillat eine trockene, nussige Struktur zu verleihen, ohne die ursprüngliche Fruchtigkeit zu dominieren.
Fassreifung und Herkunft
Die Wahl des Fasses entscheidet oft darüber, welchen Weg ein Destillat einschlägt, doch erst die Zeit verleiht ihm seine wahre Tiefe. Der renommierte unabhängige Abfüller Signatory Vintage wählte für diesen Tropfen das prestigeträchtige Label „Symington's Choice“ innerhalb der Cask Strength Collection. Nach einer langjährigen Reifung erhielt der Whisky sein prägendes Finish in einem 1st Fill Amontillado Hogshead.
Aromatik
Das Bouquet offenbart eine komplexe Vielschichtigkeit aus reifen Pfirsichen, getrockneten Feigen und einer feinen Spur von Orangenschale, die von einer sanften Honigsüße getragen wird. Am Gaumen präsentiert er sich cremig und vollmundig; hier treffen Malz und Karamell auf die typische Eleganz des Amontillado-Sherrys.
