This single malt matured in ex-Solera sherry casks that had previously been part of a traditional Solera system for over 55 years. We recommend enjoying it neat at room temperature to explore the complex sherry aromas layer by layer. The Glenallachie distillery is at the heart of this bottling.
Cask Maturation and Origin
It is the liquid documentation of a close connection between Scottish distilling art and Spanish cask tradition. The marriage of Speyside spirit and Andalusian heritage. Master Distiller Billy Walker is known for his precise cask management and has unearthed a true rarity for the "Masters of Wood" series. It comes in an elegant, dark brown presentation with gold accents and an illustrated cask motif, underscoring its status as a special collector's item.
Aroma
A kaleidoscope of dark fruits and spicy depth. On the nose, the honey-colored malt reveals an intense bouquet of brandied plums, rich mocha, and fresh honeycomb. The palate shows a velvety texture with notes of plum syrup, dark molasses, and heather honey, accompanied by black cherries and crystallized ginger. The finish remains exceptionally long and complex with nuances of dark chocolate and walnut.
