Caol Ila mit kräftigem Sherry- und Torfrauchprofil
Bei diesem 14-jährigen Single Malt aus Islay treffen intensive Raucharomen auf die Einflüsse eines First Fill Sherry Hogsheads. Der 2012 destillierte Caol Ila reifte im Fass mit der Nummer 311512 und wurde 2026 abgefüllt. Aus dem einzelnen Fass gingen 294 Flaschen hervor.
Die Abfüllung besitzt eine Fassstärke von 55,9% Vol. und kommt ohne Farbstoff sowie ohne Kühlfiltrierung in die Flasche. Ihre mahagonifarbene Erscheinung begleitet ein Geschmacksbild, das fruchtige, süße und würzige Noten mit ausgeprägtem Torfrauch verbindet.
Aromen und Geschmack
- Nase: Geräuchertes Fleisch prägt den Auftakt; gedünstete Äpfel und frische Orangenschale setzen fruchtige Akzente.
- Gaumen: Süßer Butterscotch trifft auf intensiven Torfrauch und sanfte Anisnoten.
- Nachklang: Lang und würzig, mit gerösteter Kaffeebohne und einem trockenen Ausklang.
Zum Verkosten bietet sich der Whisky pur oder mit wenigen Tropfen stillem Wasser an.
