Bruichladdich Octomore 17.1
With the Octomore 17.1, Bruichladdich launches the Seventeen Series. Maturation in first-fill bourbon casks combines intense smoke notes with vanilla, pear, malt, and hints of warm desserts.
Aroma
On the nose, vanilla custard, pear drops, and malt syrup meet dry, earthy smoke, oak, and a touch of ash. On the palate, vanilla, pear, and malt unfold alongside powerful peat smoke, toasted oak, and dry earthiness. A salty nuance gives the interplay contour and balance.
Finish
The finish is long, dry, and smoke-forward. Earthy peat, smoldering oak, and ash remain present, accompanied by a salty freshness.
