Bottled at 62.6% Vol. and with a phenol content of 189.5 PPM, this single malt brings a lot of intensity, but isn't just limited to smoke. This edition belongs to the 16th series "The Impossible Equation" and combines Islay barley from Octomore Farm with maturation in Bourbon Barrels and French Virgin Oak Casks.
In the glass, dense peat smoke meets an earthy-malty base note, accompanied by toasted oak, dark chocolate, coffee, and a light sweet smoky note. The virgin oak casks give the young, five-year-old whisky additional spice and structure, while the bourbon casks provide vanilla, toasting, and a dry-sweet depth.
